Hello everyone! Thank you for checking out my work be it may in passing.

Below you will find a short entry into a new digital sketchbook I plan to work on over the coming months, chronicling my journey of my own personal studies. You can find the focus of the exercise, my own thoughts on the result, and different revelations I have throughout the process. Feel free to offer your input and/or to study along with me on your own. (Future pieces will have more process updates rather than just the finished versions)

Entry #1: Using the full digital workspace
Working through this piece brought up several questions that I had not considered in quite a while. Revisiting how to use the tools available in photoshop was something I haven't thought about in years because it seemed like such a basic fundamental of my creative journey as a digital artist. Early on, I found a lot of difficulty in utilizing or even finding a use for the smudge tool within my workflow as the result of using it always looked "cheap" or a shortcut. I found that using it to soften lines between values and hues helped to bring together the different forms. I still found trickiness in working through different anatomical obstacles, but feel that overall I have improved from some of my earlier attempts.
